ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - Attracting people to visit and move to Michiana — that’s one of the goals of the Midwest Continental Divide Trail.

State legislators just approved millions of dollars to go to the creation of the trail, which aims to transform St. Joseph County’s continental divide into a premier outdoor recreation and ecotourism destination.

The project’s vision includes connecting key natural and cultural destinations such as Potato Creek State Park, the Chain of Lakes, the Kankakee River, Dixon Ditch, Four Winds Casino, the Indiana Dinosaur Museum and Lydick Bog.

And now, project leaders want your input!

Shawn Peterson, a local attorney and spokesperson for the project joined us on WNDU 16 News Now at Noon to tell us more about the project and talk about some upcoming opportunities for community input. You can learn more by watching the video above!
